Hello, I am Kendra
Hi, I'm Kendra, a certified life coach, an early morning seminary teacher, and a woman who is deeply passionate about helping others strengthen their mindset and remember who they are through God's eyes. I'm also a wife, a mother of five, and someone who has been on this journey myself. This is Becoming the Oak Rooted in Christ.
Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, emotionally tired, or like you're doing all the right things, but still struggle to feel peace and joy? I want you to know those feelings are real and you are not alone. I have felt those same things as well.
I keep meeting women who love the Savior but still feel stuck. They're praying, they're trying, they're doing all the right things. They continue to wonder, why do I still feel this way? Why can't I get it together? Why do I feel like I'm failing even when I'm trying so hard to follow Jesus Christ?
These women believe the doctrine, but they feel their heart is struggling. They feel anxious, discouraged, reactive, exhausted, spiritually heavy, and even overwhelmed. Joy feels very far away.
A Reminder For You
Here's what I want to remind you of. These questions do not mean you are failing. It means you're human. These are feelings we all go through. It's a part of our mortal life.
So this podcast is here to strengthen you. Becoming the Oak is for women who want more peace and joy right where they are.
This podcast exists because I believe something deeply. Just like an acorn already holds everything it needs to become an oak tree, God has placed within you what you need to grow, to endure, to become.
Joseph B. Wirthlin said:
"In the fashioning of our spiritual bodies, our Heavenly Father took great care to place in each of us every little potential of character, of compassion, of joy, and of knowledge that we would need in our quest for personal growth. The seeds for each godly character trait are in each of us. With that assurance, we are truly able to grow toward Godhood as He has commanded us."
You have been given divine identity, agency, and access to the healing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. As we root ourselves in Him, we can create a life of meaning, peace, and joy, no matter what messy circumstances come.
Coming Back To Christ
Now, this podcast isn't about pretending things are fine, and it's not about pushing through or trying harder. It's about learning how to come back to Christ from the inside out.
This podcast is centered on real women, real life, and real faith, sharing what they've walked through and what helped them stay rooted in Jesus Christ. Some episodes will be about big life trials and some will be about the quiet struggles that don't look dramatic but still feel heavy. Because the truth is, the Lord cares about all of it: the big heartbreaks, the daily mental load, the loneliness, the anxiety, the exhaustion, the feeling of being stuck, the constant pressure to be okay.
We're going to talk about faith in a way that includes your whole heart, not just what you know in your head, but what you feel in your body and what you're carrying emotionally. We're going to talk about why it can feel hard to access peace, even when you believe in Jesus Christ. And we're going to talk about how to begin shifting that, because peace isn't just a concept. Peace is something you can begin to experience in your actual day-to-day life.
You Are Becoming
Some of you might be saying:
Kendra, I feel like I'm barely holding it together.
I want you to know that you are not behind and you are not broken. You are becoming.
For those of you listening today that are thinking: "I don't know if I can do this anymore. I don't know if I have what it takes. I don't know how to keep going."
Let me remind you that you can, not because you are perfect, not because you'll never struggle, but because Jesus Christ strengthens you.
Paul said we can do all things through Christ, who strengthens us. And if you keep taking small steps, if you keep returning to Him, you will become steadier, you will become stronger, you will become the daughter of God, the daughter God intended you to be.
What This Podcast Gives You
If you've been craving something that feels honest, something that strengthens your faith, something that helps you feel grounded again, this podcast is for you.
I hope that as you listen, you feel three things:
Hope, because Christ is real and He is involved in your life
Belonging, because you are not the only one who feels what you feel
Empowerment, because through Jesus Christ you can do hard things, feel peace again, feel joy, and become who God created you to be
I am so grateful you're here. New episodes begin next week, March 2nd.
